George Papadakis - Artist of the Week

I've been following this guy on Instagram and I love his work. He specialized in multimedia portraits.  His name is George Papadakis.

His portraits of athletes are very popular. The portrait he's standing next to here is of a pole vaulter called Sandi Morris.

People always told George he had talent but he credits his hard work. 

I believe it's a little bit of both. He has a talent for portraying his subjects using his own unique and painstaking process. He builds things up layer over layer, drawing with a pencil, then coloring with pencils, then painting multiple layers with thin acrylic washes.

The images he creates are so vivid and creative. They're one of a kind. ​ I really like his style.
